Terms of Service

Last updated: May 3, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the PageNarrator browser extension and the website at pagenarrator.com, together called the Software. PageNarrator is operated by Shield Oh AB. By installing, accessing, or using the Software, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

PageNarrator converts webpage text into speech, and Pro adds PDF extraction and viewing. The free edition includes 5 smart page reads per day with browser voices, Kokoro AI voices, and unlimited selected-text reading. The Pro edition removes the daily smart-read limit and adds the full PDF viewer, custom highlight styling, 3x playback speed, adjustable section pauses, floating controls, a pop-out player window, resume position, and other Pro features described on the site.

2. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and, for Pro features, payment of the applicable fee, PageNarrator grants you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the Software for personal, non-commercial use. A single Pro license key may be activated on up to five personal devices at one time.

3. License Key Responsibility

Your Pro license key is personal to you. You are responsible for keeping it confidential. Sharing, publishing, reselling, or distributing your license key may result in deactivation or suspension. Any refund request remains subject to Paddle's Refund Policy. If you believe your key has been compromised, contact [email protected].

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Software, bypass licensing controls, commercially exploit the Software, remove proprietary notices, or use it to process content you do not have the right to access. You also agree not to decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer the Software except where that activity is expressly permitted by applicable law and cannot be contractually waived.

5. Payment, Refunds, and Taxes

Pro licenses are sold by Paddle.com, our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle handles billing, payment processing, taxes, and receipts. Pricing is shown at checkout and may change for new purchases. Existing license holders are not affected by future price changes.

When you complete a purchase through Paddle, Paddle's Paddle Buyer Terms apply to the transaction. Refunds are handled under Paddle's Refund Policy and summarized in our Refund Policy.

6. Updates and Changes

We may release updates, bug fixes, and new features. Updates may be installed automatically through the browser extension store. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features when needed. If paid access is materially affected, contact support so we can investigate and direct any refund request through Paddle's Refund Policy and applicable law.

7. Third-Party Services

The Software relies on third-party services and open-source components, including browser vendors, voice models, Paddle, Cloudflare, Resend, and hosting infrastructure. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy notices.

8. Intellectual Property

The Software, branding, and website content are owned by PageNarrator and its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Open-source components included in the Software remain governed by their respective licenses.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or trade usage.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PageNarrator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages. Our total aggregate liability for claims related to the Software will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.

11. Consumer Rights

If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection laws, nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights. Any statutory withdrawal or refund rights are handled through Paddle's Refund Policy.

12. Governing Law and Contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Questions about these Terms can be sent to [email protected]. The Privacy Policy and Refund Policy form part of these Terms.
